Website Redesign for a Construction Company

Background

To modernize the online presence of a construction company, I led a full website redesign focused on clarity, usability, and search optimization. The previous site lacked structure and visibility, making it difficult for clients to find information about the company’s services. My redesign introduced a refreshed homepage, dedicated service pages to improve SEO, and a new blog developed in collaboration with the co-owner. The result is a more cohesive, mobile-friendly website that effectively showcases the company’s expertise and makes it easier for potential clients to connect.

New Home Page

Color Blocking:

In redesigning the homepage, my primary focus was on using color blocking to improve visual hierarchy and readability. The original site relied heavily on a single, dark color, which made it difficult to distinguish between sections and reduced overall engagement. By introducing a more balanced color palette and clear sectional contrast, I strengthened content separation, improved readability, and created a more visually engaging experience.

Developing Blog Posts to Increase SEO and drive more traffic to the website:

To improve search visibility and strengthen audience engagement, I introduced a new company blog developed in collaboration with the co-owner. The blog supports SEO growth, creates content to share across social media, and helps drive more traffic back to the website. By featuring the latest post on the homepage, it also adds fresh content while communicating the company’s values, expertise, and personality to attract best-fit clients.

Increasing Content to Increase Sales:

The original homepage contained minimal content, limiting its ability to guide visitors through the site. To improve navigation and boost engagement, I expanded the homepage into a directional landing page that previews key areas of the business. This included adding condensed sections for services, gallery highlights, and other core offerings which made it easier for users to explore the site and connect with what the company offers.

Adding Link to Contact Form on EVERY page:

To make inquiries as seamless as possible, I ensured every page includes a direct link to the contact form. This reduces friction for users, keeps opportunities to connect consistently visible, and supports higher conversion rates across the website.

Addition of Separate Services Pages

In addition to redesigning the homepage, I split the single Services page into four individual service pages to improve SEO and help users easily find relevant offerings; an industry best practice for search visibility and customer experience. Each page follows a consistent layout while using tailored imagery and section emphasis to reflect the nuances of each service. On the Historical Restoration page, I highlighted the blog to showcase related past projects and expertise. For Home Renovation, I featured the most popular renovation types so visitors could quickly identify comparable work. Throughout the pages, I used intentional color blocking and clear call-to-action links to maintain visual consistency and support conversions.
